Commemoration Event FAQs
When is the event taking place?
This will be held over four days from 7th -10th September, 2023.

What is the exact location of the event?
Please see the location section on our website for location of the different activities around the village. But the Main Hub for the event is situated in the 98-Memorial Hall in the village.

How much does it cost to attend?
All of the weekend's events are free to attend excluding the evening live music events. The cost of admission for the live music each night are to be confirmed.
Will there be parking?
There will be lots of parking, in addition disabled & elderly parking spaces will be at several sites around the village.

How can I volunteer to be Pikeman / Pikewoman?
You can volunteer very easily, once you are over the age of 16 by submitting your name & contact phone number to ballinamuck1798commemoration@gmail.com or message us on social media, or locally by contacting one of the committee.
Will there be training given to be part of the
re-enactment?
Yes, there will be safety training & rehearsal day scheduled closer to the event, once you have registered your interest to take put our re-enactment coordinator will be in contact with you.
Will there be baby changing facilities?
Yes, presently there are two locations in the village that have baby changing facilities located in Dillons Bar & in the 98 Memorial Hall.

Will you have a cloakroom& Lost & found facility?
Yes, we will have both a cloakroom & lost & found. Both will be situated the main 98 Memorial Hall.
Are there any bars and will there be music each night?
Yes, there two bars in the village.

Will food be available at the events?
Yes, there will be several different food providers throughout the village serving a wide variety of different food options & special dietary needs will also be catered for.
Is there a local shop in the village?
Yes, there is a local shop stocked with all you will need for your day or maybe just to satisfy your sweet tooth sweets & treats, minerals & much more! Village Green, Main street, Ballinamuck 043 33324131
Are there any options for public transport to & from the village?
There is a local bus service that runs regularly to both Cavan & Longford town please find link to the timetable for your convenience.
Will there be Taxi’s available?
There will be a limited local taxi/hackney service.
It is advisable to have travel arrangements made in advance!
Are there ATMs available in the village?
Unfortunately, there is not an ATM in the village the closest ATM would be Centra Drumlish (inside so only available within store opening hours) Longford town (Multiple ATMs) Main Street Longford
Will Card payments be accepted?
Yes, card payments will be accepted!
Stewards
There will be lots of volunteer stewards on duty throughout the day & evening events, if you need assistance in any way, please feel free to ask for their help!
Clothing
Please come prepared for the Irish weather Rain or Shine!
